As 2017 kicks off young New Zealanders have two new working holiday schemes to take advantage of when heading overseas – Lithuania and Luxembourg.
Here’s what you need to know…
Lithuania
This scheme was signed back in 2015, and was implemented late 2016 – ready for people to pick up in 2017. The best way to apply is in Lithuania once arrived.
Luxembourg
In September 2016, the government announced it had signed a working holiday agreement with Luxembourg. 50 New Zealanders can take advantage of the scheme, which is expected to come into effect in the first half of 2017.
43 working holidays
These two new schemes add to New Zealand’s impressive list of working holiday schemes, bringing the total to 44 working holiday agreements! For young New Zealanders looking at heading overseas, this provides a wealth of opportunity with 43 of the schemes being reciprocal. (The working holiday scheme for Chinese citizens in NZ, part of the China-NZ Free Trade Agreement, is not a reciprocal scheme).
